A trip back home

We are still waking up in the wee hours of the morning. My daughter is having difficulty adjusting to the time difference. Yesterday she woke up crying for her granny. I was surprised that she can already evoke such strong emotion, missing my mum particularly. I am happy to see that despite the distance, my daughter still remains fairly close to my family back home.
The long holiday period declared by GMA provided us more time to spend with my family with people not having to work or go to school for some time. For our yearly diving expedition, we went to a place in Sipalay in Negros. We loved it! The diving was great and the area was not crowded with tourists, in fact most of the guests were from Germany or the Scandinavian countries.
We also took the opportunity to visit for a couple of days a very good friend in college who relocated to Bacolod with her family. My hubby and I are considering to eventually buy a beach property in the Philippines, and definitely Sipalay is something that we will strongly consider.

Three weeks of pampering and relaxation at home is never enough. It seems that the longer I am away from home, the harder it is for me to leave and go back to my current home. Homesickness gets into me as soon as I am back in my country of residence. It is really not about missing the Philippines per se, although a part of me loves being there, but it is really leaving behind some of the most important people in my life.

However, I have something to look forward -- to see my family again when my brother and his family will visit us this spring and when my mum comes here for my daughter's third birthday this summer.
