Planning for the next three months

Since I moved here, I have learned to take things as they come. This is one of the adjustments that I have to get used to as I am naturally a "planner". Perhaps this attitude comes from my training (geez, predicting cash flows for the next 25 years??!) or managing projects, where basically one has to do some forecasting etc. I am still waiting for my residency permit. My hubby has called the IND (immigration) several times but has not received a very promising response. I am not surprised at all given the latest complaints about them. Yesterday, I had a meeting with the college to finally hear from them if they will allow (or consider) me to take the language program, given my residency status. The final answer: No.
I doubt if i'll have my permit by November in time for the next language program, which means that I have to take the February program (that is if I get the residency).
In a way, I felt so relieved. Finally, I can plan for the next three months without feeling in a limbo. Not only that I have something to look forward to, but now I can make some commitments that I have been holding off. Some of the things I plan to do for the next three months:
* Visit the Philippines in January to see my family.
* Celebrate our first year wedding anniversary in one of the Philippine islands (sun! sun!)
* Plan for my cousin's visit to the Netherlands.
* Pursue some leads.
This feels good--to be able to plan again even on a short-term basis.
