Memories

The evite from M&S reads "8 years and 2 kids later, we are returning to the most memorable ***** . We are getting a great deal on the entire place which includes the 7 bedroom mainhouse and the two bedroom cottage with its own pool ...".
The peeps are planning a reunion once more in this fun island. Has it been that long? Looking back, it amazes me how our lives have ventured.
Now 8 years later, we have turned to different directions. We knew that the time spent in Boston was something temporary, we moved on, and fortunately most if not all have more or less achieved what they wanted. There are circumstances though when life brought us a surprise (such as me ending here in the Netherlands!), some I would never have imagined to be married nor having kids, several ended up with other partners, a lot moved and settled in different countries, others are still wandering nomads, a few pursued their Phds, and a few opted to stay behind in Boston and doing very well.
Although the years brought us all apart, the peeps managed to keep in touch. Occassionnally we emailed each other and there were a few exchanges of photographs, some from our Boston years just to remind each other of those times.
I am very curious how the reunion will turn out, with our partners and kids in tow.
It was a fun, very diverse and easy going group--multi-cultural, multi-disciplined, straight, gay, single, exploring, committed, living-in, broken, what have you.
Briefly, looking back and reminiscing: giggling, carefree, chicken head, Hootie, hummus, Sunday brunch, Cambridgeport...New York...Cape...Cantab....911.....wasted.
Gosh, i feel quite old and so grown-up.
