A Dutchie Summer

Despite having a somewhat schizophrenic weather, I still enjoyed this summer.
I enjoyed this summer because there was a lot of opportunity to spend it with family and friends or simply enjoy my husband's company. We had guests from London and New York so we took time to bring them around. My husband and I also planned several day trips either by ourselves or together with friends.
Thanks to my husband, I learned how to paint. In fact I became a bit neurotic about it, looking for every excuse to practice my newly developed painting skills. I found painting very therapeutic. If my family and friends would see me now, they will perhaps give me a big round of applause--you see, i have never been this domesticated.
Unlike the previous summer when I barely knew anyone except for a few acquaintances or my husband's friends, this summer offered loads of opportunity to get to know better new found friends from school. A couple of us would have weekly meet ups, and despite our struggling Dutch, we all managed to communicate and have fun. There are nice respites however when my American friend and I would sneak out to be able to express ourselves in English. We also hosted lunches to introduce different cuisines from our respective countries. Going Moroccan: a home cooked couscous.
School will start tomorrow and for sure like everyone else who just came from a long break it will be a very rusty start. For sure I will struggle to get up at 7.00 am tomorrow. Oh well, another summer has been concluded.

Nice pics! Looks like you had fun during the summer. Can you paint my house as well? :-) Good luck with your school.

You haven't learned the trade well yet. Look you were wearing your nice, long clean pants!

IG: If you trust me enough, I could probably do your walls in red :-)

TING: I was even actually wearing gloves during my first painting session! It took me some time to get used to it. I have only painted small stuffs for "training purposes" he..he..so perhaps if I trust myself enough to do the walls next time i'll be having more of a "builder's look".
